The Madison Dodger Online Staff will be hosting a bake sale this Friday, May 20th following the senior class’s meeting during the day of service. All proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation through the Justin’s Hope Fund.

Justin’s Hope Fund was started by Terry Strada, mother of Justin Strada about seven years ago after Justin was diagnosed with a Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma. All proceeds raised by Justin’s Hope Fund are donated directly to Children’s Brain Tissue Tumor Consortium, a collaboration of six major children’s hospitals agreeing to share tissue samples to speed the scientific discoveries needed to cure the devastating disease.

Terry Strada told MDO, “Children’s brain cancer is one of the least explored cancers, yet it is also one of the most deadly. The donations will help hospitals fund the research to explore the cancer’s tissue to ultimately find a cure for this heartbreaking disease.”

Justin has been in remission for the past six years and is a happy healthy fourteen year old who will be attending the high school next year as a ninth grader.
