After one of the most chaotic midterm recounts in Florida, overseer of Broward County elections Brenda Snipes steps down from her position.

After messy signatures, old voting machines, and the potential of voter fraud, Florida finished their midterms with the state as a whole leaning slightly right. The House has eleven democrat and fifteen republican representatives. Ron DeSantis (R) took the place as Florida’s governor, only leading the midterms by 0.4%. Rick Scott (R) became Florida’s senator with an even smaller 0.2% lead.

Many Republicans accuse Democrat Brenda Snipes of voter fraud, despite no substantial evidence surfacing. However, Snipes has committed multiple crimes in the past, including destroying ballots too soon after the 2016 election. She also tied to multiple voting lawsuits.

Trump, the most powerful Republican now, also accused Snipes of attempting to skew Florida’s results. “Don’t worry Florida–” Trump tweets, “I am sending… lawyers to expose the FRAUD!”

Snipe’s resignment is to take effect January 4th, 2019.

“Although I have enjoyed this work tremendously over these many election cycles, both large and small, I am ready to pass the torch,” claims Snipes.

The supervisor seat is now up for grabs, and Snipes will soon be off the political battlefield for good.
