This year the girls swim team look to improve their season. WIth the new swimmers coming in they are looking to make a run this year.
Alex Modi, a senior and captain of the swim team, has been swimming with the team for 3 years and has had a great few years with the team. She is now the leader of this young team. In the interview we were able to talk to her about the expectations for this young team and what she will set the standard in practice and at the meets. We also talked to her about the team chemistry of the team and how important it is to create a great environment and an experience that would last a lifetime. Making a real connection with your team on a personal level and at the high school level is extremely important to the swim team and they always include everyone they can.
Alexis Lee is also a senior and captain of the swim team, she swims club and high school and is a huge part of the team. She has been doing club for her whole high school career and has learned so much that she can bring to the team and help the younger teammates to get better and improve. She is a leader of the swim team and always tries to get to know the younger teammates and to make a connection with them. She is also a vocal leader on the team and is able to give advice and encouragement.
As the team practices 5 days a week in the water it is very lucky to have access to the local Madison YMCA. Most teams may have to share with other teams or are not able to have exclusive access to a pool like they do. This is one of the reasons the team is so close and able to spend so much time together.
With both of these captains being very experienced and strong swimmers they will be able to lead this young team to be ready for this season and for many years to come after they leave.
