Coach Rosella and the Dodgers Softball Team are rolling into the 2026 season with some steam to let off following last year’s results. Coming off a 3-14 season the ladies have tweaked some things and also have some new additions to this team.
Freshmen Alexa Haviland, Morgan Balassi, Maggie Patrone, and Jazmine Witte are looking to bring some fire for this team. Returning key players, seniors Anna Bochner and Cammy Takafuji, juniors Georgia Mock and Megan Harter, and also sophomore Aubrey Porciello look to erase last year’s work and put some big numbers up for the Dodgers this season.
This Dodgers Team has built a reputation rooted in toughness, teamwork, and an unwavering competitive spirit. More than just a group of athletes, they represent a culture of accountability and resilience that shows up every single time they step foot on the diamond. With that mix of experienced upperclassmen leadership and incoming hungry underclassmen talent, the team needs to establish itself.
Last season tested the Dodgers in every way. Close losses, inconsistency, and missed opportunities made it difficult to find their momentum. But within those struggles came growth. Younger players were forced into bigger roles, which gained valuable experience that can’t be taught in practice.
When asking Coach Rosella about the chemistry coming into the season, she confidently responded “Chemistry has become a major point of emphasis heading into this season. The team understands that success starts with trust, and they’ve worked hard to strengthen their bond on and off the field.”
Practices have taken a more intense and focused approach, with players pushing each other to improve everyday. There’s a noticeable difference in attitude, more urgency, more communication, and a shared commitment to getting better.
Defensively, the Dodgers are looking to clean up the mistakes that cost them in the past. Fundamentals have been a top priority with an emphasis on sharper infield play and better communication in the outfield. If they can limit the amount of errors they have and stay composed under pressure, their defense has the potential to become a strength.
Offensively, the team is focused on consistency. While flashes of talent were evident last season, stringing together hits and capitalizing on scoring opportunities proved to be a challenge. This year, the Dodgers are working on a more balanced approach combining aggressive hitting with smarter situational play. The line is determined to be more productive, finding ways to manufacture runs.
As they step back onto the field, the Dodgers know the road won’t be easy, but they will do anything it takes to get it done. But with lessons learned, stronger chemistry, and a renewed determination, they are ready for a fresh start.
