Coming into the 2026 softball season the Madison Dodgers are ready for a better outcome than last year. Just last year the Dodgers went 3–14. The team is ready for a major change with senior Anna Bochner paving the path. The senior has contributed significantly with outstanding batting stats that help keep the team competing at a high level. In 2025 Anna had a whopping .581 average. The senior has been a cornerstone of the team’s success.
Bochner’s role as a catcher is vital to the team’s defense. She has a very good eye for strategy and coordinating the defense. Last season, Anna’s skills were on full display as she led the team in highest average, slugging percentage, RBIs, and hits. Bochner’s understanding of the game and her ability to communicate with the pitcher is unmatched.
As Anna prepares for her senior season her goals are clear, to lead the Dodgers to a strong run in the playoffs. Anna wants to make her season a memorable one.
“Im really excited going into the softball season.” Anna said in a recent interview. “We have put a lot of work into the offseason and the freshman class has a lot of talent. I think this season will be rewarding and fun”
Bochner’s impact on the Dodgers goes beyond performance. Anna is known to be a great role model, due to her work ethic and ability to remain positive. Being a senior is a lot of pressure, but Anna encourages and uplifts the ones around her. The senior is a standout athlete admired by peers and teammates.
Despite a challenging season marked by a 3-14 record, Bochner and the team showed resilience, they faced tough competition like Hanover Park and Morris Catholic who have been prominently good in recent years. The team consistently demonstrates very strong spirit and positive mindsets to learn from each game.
After her final season with the Dodgers, Anna is looking forward to attending the University of Kentucky with plans to pursue a major in Elementary education, a field where her leadership and good attitude will shine.
