After 19 years of being Madison Football’s head coach, Mr. Kubik is retiring. Therefore, Mr. Sallie is the new varsity coach for Madison Football. He is a MHS alumni, graduating in 2004, and became a division III football athlete. He attended college at Widener University and Fairleigh Dickinson University which is in Madison, about 10 minutes from the high school. Prior to his new position, he was the defensive coordinator for Madison Football. So, he was involved with the current students and has made connections with them. He has also been working at MHS as a teachers aid. As of January first, he has become a new physical education teacher.
Coach Sallie’s role as the new coach is to develop young leaders and form strong student athletes. He wants to promote a culture where they will be good role models for younger generations. His favorite part about coaching and football is seeing the atheltes mature and evolve from underclassmen to upperclassmen throughout their football seasons at Madison High School.
Coach Sallie is thrilled to have uptaken this new position and allow the team to start fresh. He is eager to work through the ups and downs and anticipates the team will be very competitive this year.
Although there is a lot of inexperience this year, because there are going to be new students joining varsity, they have been waiting for their opportunity and Coach Sallie is looking forward to collaborating with them.
Coach Sallie’s new role at Madison High School as the varsity football coach, will be a new beginning for the future of Madison Football. Due to his prior experience at MHS, he will be prepared to thrive with his new team.
