MADISON — Madison is no stranger to good food and cuisine, to see just how good the food is, Jack Streit and Beckett Bradshaw took to the hidden gems of Madison restaurants to see who’s fries are the best. The fries in question are from Biladi Grill, Mama B’s Grill, and Seymours Halal Food Truck.
Biladi Grill opened in 2013 where it currently resides today, 77 Main St. in Madison, NJ. The location of Biladi is in perfect proximity to the Madison Junior School, which brings many hungry customers to the Grill at the end of the school day. Biladi Grill has their fries priced at $5.50 (plus tax). We went to Biladi to get an up close and personal look at the fries ourselves. We had to wait 5 minutes for the fries to be ready, which happened to be the longest wait time. The long wait time can be forgotten because of their great hospitality, as the staff was kind enough to serve us without any cost. When it comes to the actual fry, for these critics, the crispiness of the fry was lacking. The fry was filled with pleasant Mediterranean flavoring.
Next up is Mama B’s Grill. The new addition to the Madison restaurant scene was opened in late 2025. The grill is located on 6 Elmer St, Madison, NJ. Though its location is tucked away, it is about a block away from Dodge Field, where some hungry athletes may find themselves relieving their hunger with Mama B’s fries, which come in at $5.50 (plus tax). At Mama B’s the wait time for the fries was 4:25 minutes. Unfortunately, the fries cost more than the menu advertised coming in at ~$8. The fry itself was nice and crisp but had very little salt on it.
Finally we have Seymours Halal Food Truck. The warm and welcoming atmosphere of Seymours is located on 326 Main St, Madison, NJ. The location of the food truck is right on the outskirts of Madison, only a couple hundred feet away from Chatham. Seymours sells their fries for the lowest out of the three, coming in at $4.99 (plus tax). Seymour’s fries only took a mindblowing 3:45 minutes to be ready. Seymour’s staff was also nice enough to provide us with our fries for our review for completely free with no charge. The fry itself had incredible seasoning and was full of incredible flavor.
Now, for our final ratings we will be ranking the fries based on the following factors: wait time, cost, crispiness, and salt or seasoning; and will be ranking it on a 5 scale system ranging from 1 to 5. Coming in last place we have Mama B’s Grill with a 2/5 rating, while the fry was nice and crisp it was undersalted and had one of the higher wait times. We gave Biladi Grill’s fries a 3/5 rating; the fries had a nice Mediterranean seasoning but lacked crispiness. Finally our winner, Seymours Halal Food Truck with a 5/5 rating, their fries hit all the targets they were cost efficient and came out very quickly, on top of this the fries had the most flavor out of the three and were cooked to a perfect crisp.
Even though Seymours blew the competition out of the water, We really enjoyed every fry and establishment and would recommend all of these hidden gems to our readers. Stay updated all year long and find more reviews like ours, on Dodger Media Online.
