Taking A Deep Dive in to the Fun Event, Bottle Hill Day

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, Madison hosted their yearly event which is called Bottle Hill Day. This is the 47th anniversary of the event. It was first started in 1974 by the former Mayor Elizabeth Bumgradner. It has progressed and changed since then.

It is a way families and businesses can all enjoy a nice day together and have a great time. The event begins at Central Avenue School where there are carnival games and rides. It ends near Hartley Dodge Memorial where there are food trucks and the beer garden, where people the age of 21+ can enjoy a beverage. There are lots of booths that promote their business in the streets such as Tons of Toys and Pink Pear, which are local stores in the heart of Madison. There is really good food and there is a wide variety of it, such as Pad Thai and pizza from local restaurants that set up tables on Main street, and pastrami and tacos from the tables and food trucks all lined up on Hartley Dodge Memorial.

There are lots of games to play from spinning a wheel and winning a prize provided by local companies, to playing mini golf, a course run by The Madison High School. Everywhere you walk you will hear the live music being played at various stages and over 20 performances throughout the day.

Bottle Hill Day is the time of year many people in Madison can have fun and come together. Many people have gone for many years and some have just started, but most people enjoy the event as it rounds up the nice fall weather as we head into the winter time. In fact, Bottle Hill Day was supposed to be on October 1st, but due to inclement weather, it got postponed to October 15. With the nice weather, it was enjoyable and a way for local businesses to promote themselves and a chance for the community to check out local businesses. Sadly Bottle Hill Day is an annual event, but many residents in Madison and neighboring towns are already excited for next year.
