HGTV viewers absolutely fell in love with Chip and Joanna Gaines when the show fixer upper first aired on May 23, 2013. Fixer Upper on HGTV has been on air for four years, after this season it will be coming to an end. The two felt that the show was demanding more time than they had and that they were losing time from their family, “I realized the show was demanding time from me, and I needed to be giving it to our businesses, to our relationship and my family,” (Today). They posted a video on Chip Gaines twitter on September 26th, 2017 explaining why they were ending the show along with an article that also explains why they have decided to end their beloved series, “This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses” (CNN).

No need to worry though, Chip and Joanna also added that they do plan on staying in touch and do not know what the future holds. “Who knows what the future holds, but we’re excited for whatever is around the bend and in the meantime, we will definitely be staying in touch” (Magnolia Market).
