Grande Shows Manchester Love
On May 22nd a suicide bombing occurred in Manchester England at an Ariana Grande Concert injuring nearly 60 people and killing 24. The suicide bombing happened less than 24 hours after the London Bridge terrorist attack where a van crashed into and killed 7 civilians. Families including young children have been severely traumatized by the Ariana Grande bombing especially families who lost their lives just as the concert was ending. Grande took all responsibility for the attack and offered to pay for all the victims funerals and offered their families a video call. She also donated all the proceeds from her tour to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund and set up a benefit concert called One Love Manchester in which all the proceeds and donations would go to the same charity. Ariana Grande performed one of her hit singles called One Last Time and even invited Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and many more artists to perform in the concert. Thousands of people attended the One Love Manchester concert this past Sunday in order to show their support and dedication for the cause and support Ariana who has been so generous and caring to all the victims. Scooter Braun, Grande’s manager, praised the crowd for its bravery and courage to attend the concert and thanked everyone for their donations. “Last night this nation was challenged, and all of you were challenged, and you had a decision to make if you were going to come out here tonight…And this is so beautiful. You guys made that decision. You looked fear right in the face and you said, No, we are Manchester, and the world is watching” said Braun. As of now Grande has suspended her tour, but will resume in Paris on June 7th.
