3-3 Tie in World Series Race
For the 38th time in World Series history there will be a game 7. The Chicago Cubs have come back from a 3-1 game deficit to beat the Cleveland Indians twice, tying the series at 3-3. The Cubs survived against the Indians on Sunday October 30th, scraping out a 3-2 victory. They then won again last night, crushing the Indians by a score of 9-3. If the Chicago Cubs manage to win at Cleveland tomorrow night, they will join one of only five other teams in MLB history that have come back from a 3-1 game deficit. The Cleveland Indians however will try and become the third team in MLB history to throw away a 3-1 lead and survive in game 7. Clevelands basketball team (Cavaliers) became the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit, and now Clevelands baseball team will be trying to survive being overtaken from a 3-1 lead. If the Cubs manage to win game 7 they will also break a 112 year drought in which they have not one a single world series title. However, the Indians are no stranger to championship drought either, as they have not won a championship since 1948. This tie has created a massive increase in prices for game 7 tickets. By the end of game 6, the average asking price for game 7 tickets had jumped 19.8 percent and the average sale was up by 56.4 percent. One ticket is costing people over $2,000, more than 8 of the past 10 super bowls. Hopefully this game 7 will be a thriller for those going to this game. The Cubs have decided to start pitcher Kyle Hendricks for game 7. Hendricks shut out the Indians over 4 and ⅓ innings in game 3, striking 6 people out and walking 2. However, the Indians will be starting all-star pitcher Corey Kluber who has allowed only 3 runs in the past 30 ⅓ postseason innings. Game 7 bodes to be a very exciting game, one that both teams and organizations desperately want to win. Game 7 will be played at Progressive Field in Cleveland at 8:00 p.m. tonight televised on FOX.
