JK Rowling’s New Series is Coming

More stories from Maggie Smith

The magically amazing JK is at it again. She’s writing a new series of short stories about the magical community in America. She’s releasing four new stories on her Harry Potter centered website, Pottermore. The new stories are about Ilvermorny (the North American version of Hogwarts), 1920s Wizarding America, Rappaport’s Law, Seventeenth Century and Beyond, and Fourteenth Century – Seventeenth Century. These new stories are being released in preparation for the all new Harry Potter movie: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The story about the 1920s Wizarding America in particular provides background for the new film. It gives a rundown of the political dealings in the wizarding world of the time, and also gives little factoids of cultural information. Rappaport’s Law is about a wizarding law about the segregation between wizards and the American version of muggles, No-Maj’s. The other two stories are American-wizarding history in their respective centuries.

Fans are excited to finally get a taste of the American wizarding world, especially American fans. The new stories are providing background for the American characters in the new movie. Rowling has promised even more writing, along with writing about the North American school Ilvermorny. Not much is known about Ilvermorny (which the American Fantastic Beasts characters attended), aside from the fact that the school has houses much like Hogwarts, and that the school is somewhere far north east, but not in New York.

It’s a good time to be a Harry Potter fan. A new movie, and a whole new set of wizarding worlds to enjoy. Visit http://www.pottermore.com to find Rowling’s treasure trove of addition HP info.
