There are in fact superior foxes.

Over the years, Fox News have lost their credibility as a reliable news source and firmly established themselves as the endearingly racist grandparent of the family that more rational members just sort of look at with a sad smile and shake their heads. Thus it came as no real surprise to anyone when Fox’s terrorism commentator Steve Emerson made the claim that certain European neighborhoods were so overtaken by Muslims that even the police refused to patrol them, the city of Birmingham in particular. In the words of Emerson, there are “actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn’t dress according to religious Muslim attire.” Oh Fox, what will you say next?

Quickly and rather equally unsurprisingly, Prime Minister David Cameron as well as a multitude of enraged French TV stations were quick to point out how wrong that was. To quote Cameron, “When I heard this, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fool’s Day. This guy is clearly a complete idiot.” The citizens of Birmingham took the incident in a different direction and relentlessly mocked Emerson about the incident. Using the hashtag #foxnewsfacts, @christ_wilde tweeted a picture of a procession of jihadists waving an Islamic State flag with the caption: “Heavy traffic reported in Birmingham today.” User @msalimkassam tweeted that the 1980s Birmingham band Duran Duran have been forced by the overwhelming Muslim population to change their name to Quran Quran.

It should be noted that Fox has since profusely apologized for the incident, with Emerson himself later calling Birmingham a “beautiful city” and claiming his intent to make a donation to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, so at least they’re learning from their mistakes.
