Peyton Manning is playing well, really well. In fact, Manning is on pace to throw for 64 touchdowns and over 5,800 yards this football season, both of which are record-breaking single season totals. The Broncos have been averaging over 30 points per game, and coming off of Manning’s second best statistical season of his career in 2012, there is no reason to believe that he won’t be able to continue his high level of play until the end of the season. With this in mind, the question that needs to be asked is, how does a team beat the Broncos? There isn’t an easy answer to this question, as it really doesn’t seem that they are deficient in any area. Sure they’re without Ryan Clady, Von Miller, and Champ Bailey (all star players for the team), but that didn’t stop them from putting up 51 points Sunday night in the highest scoring game since the AFL-NFL merger. It also didn’t stop them from holding off the best single-game passing performance in the history of the Dallas Cowboys (506 yards and 5 touchdowns) while surrendering 48 points on defense. With the best receiving corps in the league, composed of Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Eric Decker, and Julius Thomas, as well as a surprisingly effective running-back-by-committee approach, the Broncos offense has been downright dominant. Manning tied the record for touchdown passes in a single game in Week 1 against the defending Super Bowl champs the Baltimore Ravens. Early in the season it was thought that the only way to stop Manning and the Broncos would be to put up more points, forget about stopping Manning on defense, and just hope that your offense can out dominate the Broncos. If Sunday night was any inidication, this approach has failed and the NFL is left wondering; who can be the team to knock off the Broncos, and is it even possible? Only time will tell, though at this point, it isn’t looking good for the rest of the league.

I think Manning is playing the best in the league no doubt. I think that he will break the record for touchdowns thrown in a season, but i doubt he will break the passing yardage record. Eventually the Broncos will start to have success running the ball with many defenses focusing on the pass, and when that happens Peyton will have his pass attempts decrease.

I’m not sure that the broncos can be stopped unless they play the colts in playoffs or the saints, but other then those teams, I don’t think they can be beat. They are definitely on their way to the Super Bowl.
