On Thursday October 9th, Boys Soccer had their Senior Night honoring their 14 seniors, Callum Regan, Thomas Dianis, Sergio Agudelo, Kushai Pothumudi, Gui Dos Santos, Nolan Keane, Justin Macrina, Jack Agi, Liam Goldberg, Andrew Haviland, Jake Witte, Sam Velez, Mateo Alarcon, and Teo Bengtsson.
The team held their ceremony at 3 pm having the seniors and their families walk the pitch, then receiving posters and taking photos. At 4 pm, the game started. The Dodgers played a great game resulting in another win to to add to their record of 11-0-2 after a great performance against Pequannock.
In this game against Pequannock, the Madison Boy’s soccer team started off strong in the first half with two goals from senior Andrew Haviland. On the first goal, senior Liam Goldberg drove to the corner and crossed it in to find Andrew, where it bounced around and he was able to find the back of the net. The second goal was off of a corner kick from Liam, and Andrew headed it in again.
Pequanock tried a comeback in the second half with Junior Gavin Visscher scoring a goal, but they couldn’t find their momentum despite it. The Dodgers followed quickly with another goal from senior Justin Macrina scoring off a rebound. Finally to close off the game, senior Gui Dos Santos scored a goal to make the final score 4-1. Gui and sophomore Ben Smith also each totaled an assist. Senior goalie Callum Regan made sure no more goals went in by gathering 3 saves throughout the match.
The team kept the lead for the rest of the game, coming away with a win. This win gives great hope to the Boys Soccer Team as they head into the final parts of their season.
