The 2025 NFL Draft, held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, showcased a new generation of football talent poised to make an immediate impact in the league. In 2024 alone, Ward received the Davey O’Brien Award, the Manning Award, ACC Player of the Year, ACC Offensive Player of the Year, Heisman Trophy Finalist, Consensus First-Team All-American and First-Team All-ACC. Selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Travis Hunter was a two-way threat for the Colorado Buffaloes that dominated playing as both a cornerback and wide receiver. Travis Hunter garnered significant accolades in his 2024 season, including the Heisman Trophy, consensus National Player of the Year, and multiple defensive awards. He also received honors for his versatility and receiving prowess.
With the third pick in the draft the Giants picked Abdul Carter, one of the best defensive ends in college football. Carter dominated on the line for the Nittany Lions. He was awarded Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 and Unanimous All-American. He was also a finalist for several prestigious awards like the Nagurski Trophy, Lombardi Award, and Bednarik Award.
