On February 14th, Valentines day, Drake released his latest album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. The album has done very well so far, leading to the album earning the number 1 album on this Billboard 200. Earning this spot has led to Drake tying Jay-Z and Taylor Swift as the second most number 1 albums on the Billboard 200 with 14. The Beatles have the most with 19.
The album has 21 tracks, with features from Pimmie, Chino Pacas, and Yebba. The album is considered R&B. Some of his most popular songs on the album include NOKIA, DIE TRYING, and GIMME A HUG.
The collaborative album has been very successful so far. Through a week and a half, the album has had over 287 million streams, and 25,000 sold copies. This is just the start and the album will continue to keep on growing
Over the past year, there has been a strong feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Both have released diss tracks about the other, culminating in Kendrick Lamar’s Superbowl performance on February 9th, in which he performed “Not like us.” Many declared this a knockout punch for Lamar. Kendrick dropped his most recent album on November 22. Before Drake’s album, GNX was the number one album on the Billboard 200. Drake’s album knocked Kendrick’s album out of the number one spot.
