Journalism Gives Back

Kaitlyn Strada

MDO Bake Sale Thursday, May 21st after school!

As the year comes to an end, the Journalism staff is preparing for their Day of Service trip to the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown NJ. On May 29th, the staff will volunteer in various ways such as setting up, stocking inventory, and even preparing the food to be served. An average day of feeding Morristown’s hungry at the Soup Kitchen costs $2,500. They survive entirely on generous and kind donations.

Along with volunteering on May 29th, the Journalism class has planned to bring a donation to help reach the goal of $2,500, an average day’s goal at the Soup Kitchen.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

On Wednesday, May 20th, Journalism will be hosting a “Guess and Gain” Candy Jar fundraiser during lunch in the main lobby. There will be three large jars filled with various candy, and with $1 a guess, you can possibly win the jar if your number matches the correct number of candy in the jar!

On Thursday, May 21st, Journalism will be feeding the hungry Madison High students through a bake sale after school. The sale will be set up in the main lobby at 2:40, and moved to F-Hall at 3:00 to help feed the hungry dodge ball players during their tournament.

Please, help Journalism help the Soup Kitchen feed the hungry by satisfying your hungriness too!

All proceeds will be donated to the Morristown Community Soup Kitchen
