Senior Talent Show: The Inside Scoop
The Senior Talent show is one of the last events before the seniors graduate. It’s an evening full of laughter, jokes and talented people. Madison Dodger Online (MDO) had the chance to speak with one of the emcees, Jess Schuszler (JS). Here’s what she had to say about the upcoming event.
MDO: When is the Talent Show?
JS: The talent show is this Wednesday April 29th! At 7:00.
MDO: Who else is hosting with you?
JS: Bobby Finelli, Harrison Meyer, and Julia Malone are emceeing with me.
MDO: What was the process like for being selected to host this years Talent Show?
JS: Lynott actually asked Julia and me to emcee last year and then he asked us to give him a couple names of boys we thought would be good as an emcee and then he chose from there!
MDO: When did the planning for the show first begin?
JS: Our first meeting was in early March, but Julia and I have been pretty much planning one of the videos for the talent show since our freshman year (lol not kidding).
MDO: What acts can people anticipate to see?
JS: The acts are AWESOME this year!!! Abby Riley will be singing and she’s amazing, there’s also a lot of dancing, including Max Vigotov who will be tapping. There’s also a silent skit and juggling, which is really unique and something the talent show has never had before.
MDO: What is going to differentiate this years talent show from previous ones?
JS: I think one thing we tried to do is make sure everyone was equally funny and had solid jokes. In year’s past, there’s been like one emcee that does everything and gets all the laughs, whereas I think it’s pretty equal between us. Also we have really diverse acts this year, it’s not gonna be all singing and bands!
MDO: Many people said that last years talent show ‘wasn’t that funny’, what are you going to do to change that for this year?
JS: Uhhhh.. I hope we’ll be funny! We tried to do some different things. Of course there’s the look alike video and spelling bee, but there are some new things that we think will be funny!
MDO: Anything else to add?
JS: Everyone should definitely come and support all of the acts and the emcees because it’s gonna be such a fun night!
