Damage to Magic Fountain is Damage to Our Hearts
With Spring Break coming to an end, so did the dreams of many MHS students. On the morning of April 11th at 7:47am, a fire started in Magic Fountain, the favorite ice cream place for most students in Madison. The fire lasted less than an hour, but there wassignificant damage done to the building due to the fire, heat and smoke. No one was present when the fire occurred and there were no injuries. However, what caused the fire is still under investigation. There has not been any word about when Magic Fountain might open again, but due to the damage, it is projected that it will be closed for an extended period of time. Senior Emma Stechschulte said, “I know people who go to Magic Fountain almost every day during the summer. There was so much excitement of the opening a few weeks ago and now all the sudden its closed. Especially for all the seniors going to college this August, summer will just not be the same.” With the opening only a few weeks ago, there were countless Instagrams and Snapchat stories of the beautiful looking magic blends and ice cream. As the weather is getting warmer and summer getting closer, there will no longer be Magic Fountain runs after school or on the weekends. We can only hope Magic Fountain will be open sooner rather than later for the sake of Madison and all other neighboring towns. Hang in there Madison, this landmark isn’t gone forever.
