The Dodger Bowling Team hopes to have a rebound year after a 1-12 season last year. Senior captains, Jack McGuire and Jack Irwin, think that is definitely possible.
With a year of experience and a lot of practice, the two captains feel prepared for their competition and have already led the Dodgers to two wins against Chatham and Dover. That doubled their wins from last year, so the team is excited. Jack McGuire states that the team played well in both games and “juniors Brennan Cullis, Joaquin Soler, and Jordan McMillan all had great performances.” Looking forward to the season, Jack thinks that some of their hardest competition will be Montville and Delbarton, but they are “definitely winnable games.” Jack stated that “success this year will only come with hard work, and practice”. Jack continued that the team “has been practicing a lot, bowling almost one and a half hours a day”.
As a captain, Jack Irwin thinks it’s important to “be a leader to the underclassmen and be someone they can look up to”. Jack attributes his leadership skills to the seniors they had last year who were great role models for him. Jack stated that his goals this year are to “win, while having fun” and he thinks they will definitely have opportunities to win with “a lot of practice”. Jack stated he is really focusing on his “ball spin,” this year and thinks that the spin can really take his game to the next level.
You can find the boys at their home lanes at the Hanover Lanes and their games are as followed:
