The Dodger Softball Team hopes to have a rebound year after a 9-11 season last year. Senior captains Emily Csatlos, Ava Strauss, and Beau Braverman, think that it is definitely possible.
With 2 years of varsity experience and lots of off season practice, senior Beau Braverman feels her team is prepared to hit the field and avenge their 11 loss season last year. Senior Emily Csatlos says “running winter track this year has helped me prepare for the season.” She looks to come back as a faster and stronger player than last year. Captain Ava Strauss has a goal to get the whole team involved and have fun with her teammates.
The Captains have faith that junior Charlotte Tuhy will continue to be their ace on the mound as they look for sophomore, Anna Bochner, to step up at catcher as she looks to earn a spot in her first year on varsity. Returning to varsity is Junior third baseman Ellena Decaro who brings power to the offense. Along with Sophomore Cameron Takafuji playing right field.
These seniors are also looking towards their first game against Morris Catholic as they call them a rival and look to take revenge on them in their loss in the county tournament semi final last year.
Senior Beau Braverman is excited to step into her leadership role as she anchors down the infield playing shortstop. Ava Strauss played 3rd base last season, but moved to left field as the season progressed and looks to stay there this year. Lastly, Emily Csatlos looks to hold down center field this year.
Coach Rosella has high hopes for this season stating: “With the 7 returning starters this year, the Dodger softball team looks to be competitive in the Liberty division and in the state playoffs.” You can catch the Dodgers at their home field at MRC. There schedule is as follows below:
