On October 23rd, the Madison Girls’ Soccer team beat Morris Catholic 1-0 for the title of Conference Champions. From there, the team continued to accelerate through the state tournament, all the way to the finals.
The team is under the leadership of head coach Marc Davico and assistant coaches Tara Alberse and Jeramie Barletta. Throughout the entire 2023 regular season and the tournament, the team remains undefeated. They scored an average of three goals per game during the regular season, and 39 in total, while simultaneously having less than ten regular season goals scored on them in total. On October 6th, the team played Harrison, and achieved their first victory in the tournament. In the second round, their opponent was West Morris Central. Again, they emerged with a victory, and a ticket for the semifinals. Here, the team competed against West Essex, and emerged with another victory, this time 2-0. This qualified them for the finals, which they will compete in this coming Monday.
