With the Dodger football season coming to an end, it’s important to take a look back on what made these 52 players a team. With a bitter loss to Pequannock, the Dodger seniors still left heads high with a career trailing behind them.
Seniors, Lex Peterson, Jonathan Erickson, Andrew Curreno, Chris Carfano, Jordan McMillan, Aaron Leak, Brody Dinnen, and Sam Bedoya dawned the last Madison jersey they would ever wear, a feeling unknown to them for nearly a decade.
What makes the Madison Dodgers… It’s the players that have been side by side since before the age of 10. It’s the players who rally behind the common enemy whether it’s the scorching hot dog days of summer or the unending team on the other side of the field. When told the odds were against them they responded with a question… Who decided that?
Aaron Leak when asked about the final game stated, “We lost but we played well.. We played our game.” Aaron Leak went on to make the first team in divisionals.
Juniors also stepped up in the season notably with Luke McGuire and George Cripe stepping up to varsity quarterback and Carter Ferris being an essential receiver on the offense. It is safe to say the rising seniors are leaving this team in good hands. “I’m confident in their abilities and I think they’re only going to get better” Lex Peterson stated when asked about the upcoming seniors. Coach Kubik holds pride in their team this year and is proud of Madison seniors.
And as of November 1st, the 2024 season comes to an end. These role models pass down the leadership from the seniors before them. To continue the chain for the line after them; that is the heart of the Madison Dodgers.
