This year the Madison Field Hockey team welcomed four new coaches into their program, and to say it was a success is an understatement. The Madison Field Hockey team has dominated their season so far, winning 8 games and only losing 2 with a total of 33 goals. In addition to the new coaches, the team has gained new talent as well. Freshmen Celia Stuart and Lindsay Catchpole already have bright futures ahead of them with Stuart scoring 6 goals and Catchpole scoring 2 this season. Conversely, goalie Caitlyn Piotrowski (junior) has done a phenomenal job at keeping the score low, having 50 shots on her and only letting five of them in.
With some challenging games ahead of them, Madison remains optimistic with junior Emma Wirth saying, “we have some difficult games ahead of us, but our team is working together the best we ever have, and I think it will correlate on the field.” Emma also mentioned the team’s emphasis on team bonding saying, “I think part of the reason we are doing so well this year is how close we are as a team. We do everything together and some of my best friends are on this team.” Madison is in rank #5 for their conference and is optimistic in climbing the ranking to the top of the conference.
