On Tuesday September 12 the girls field hockey team headed to mountain lakes to take on the lakers.
The Madison high school field hockey team started the season off strong with a win over the lakers. The team worked greatly together and had a collaborative team score of 5 goals. Not only was the goal scoring a team effort but they tallied up 11 points.
The returning leading goal scorer,Ally Brosie scored 2 goals after 2 other seniors Megan Peterson and Charlotte Smith found the goal cage with 1 score each. Following those three seniors goals junior Sarah Kate Preston scored a goal with an assist by freshman forward Lindsay Catchpole.
Following that offensive showing, the defense also stepped it up allowing only 4 shots on goal the whole game and only 4 saves by junior goalkeeper Caitlyn Piotrowski. The Lakers defense allowed 46 shots on goal by the Dodgers offense.
Catch the Dodgers as they strive through this season coming off of a big season last year going 16-3 and making it to the Semi final of the group 2 playoffs where they dropped to the West Essex who went on to win the whole tournament. The Dodger conference includes teams like Boonton, Mountain Lakes, and Whippany park and some notable out of conference opponents include Hackettstown, Chatham, Pequannock, Summit, Blair Academy, Mendham, Bernards, Morristown and Pingry.
