Caroline Bibbee, a senior and captain of the girls tennis team, has been playing since her freshman year at Madison High School. There has been improvement seen in her throughout the years; she moved from playing second singles as a junior to now being first singles.
This has been a hard year for the Dodgers, their current record is 2-11, but in the past, the Dodgers have shown the ability to bounce back and pick themselves up after difficult losses.
Bibbee’s junior year was her best season, with a total of 9 wins. She is a strong player, and even when matches seem tough, she doesn’t give up. Moving up to first singles, she is facing more competitive opponents, she is still working towards her first win, but has played some strong tennis thus far.
In her junior year, she participated in the NJSIAA tournament. In the first round at Rutherford, she finished 6-2, 6-0. She advanced to the quarterfinals at Lenape Valley and won 6-0, 6-2, and then the semifinals at Glen Ridge, which she won 6-2, 6-1.
When asked how Caroline felt about how her and the team has improved over the years, she responded with “I’ve grown a lot with Madison Tennis over the years, and I’ve learned to just enjoy it as a fun sport. I’ve made such good bonds with the girls, and it’s been awesome to see our team improve, go further in tournaments, and do more together as a team.”
Wile their record doesn’t necessarily reflect the work and improvement, Bibbee and Dodger tennis have grown over the past four years. Her matches are played at Madison High School and you can find their schedule here:
