The Madison high school’s track and field team went to the NJAC track meet that occurred on May 6th, and 7th. The Dodgers had strong showing with the boys team taking 10th and the girls taking 4th overall.
Rohan Tucker made it to the 100 meter dash finals where he ran 10.97 seconds. Rohan also got a school record for the 200 meter with 21.60 seconds. Rohan said “I had a bad taste in my mouth because of my 100 performance and my teammates helped me preserve and do a lot better in the 200 and I am ready for what’s next.”
Another school record was seen in the 4×100 relay, where Diara Ricketts, Alana Flynn, Ava Fass, and Leah Fass ran a 50.90 seconds.
On the distance side of things the Dodgers had Leo London and Peter Falcone run in the 1600 meter. Leo, who hadn’t ran a 1600 since sophomore year, ran an impressive 4 minutes and 33 seconds. Peter also broke five, running a 4:56.
Maya Van Horn, who committed to George Washington University for cross country and track, placed first in the girls 1600 meters with a time of 5 minutes and 4 seconds. Another notable placement in the 1600 was gained by sophomore Bella Bolstad who ran 5 minutes and 19 seconds and got 11th place.
Jake Nolan, who committed to Stevens Institute of Technology for distance, ran in the 3200 meters. He placed 10th with a 9 minute and 36 second time. “Great competitive atmosphere. Would’ve loved to have run a bit faster and attack the second mile better,” described Jake.
Clotilde Monville also placed 10th for the Dodgers, running 12 minutes and 6 seconds.
Moving back to sprinting, the boys team for the 4×100 meter placed 2nd, running 43.14 seconds.
Alana ran a 16.12 second in the girls 100 meter hurdles final and placed 3rd.
Rohan and Kyle Desrivieres placed highly in the triple jump event, getting 4th and 9nth respectively.
In the girls Long Jump Finals, Alana and Leah placed 5th and 4th respectively.
