Maryland remains the one of the two undefeated teams in college lacrosse carrying a record of 7-0. This season they have had notable wins against Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Princeton. This team is led by players from all years of experience. Senior Attackman Eric Spanos, Junior Attackmen Braden Erksa, Senior Attackman Mathew Keegan, and Freshman Attackman Daniel Kelly all have accumulated 12 goals each this season. Starting goalie Logan McNaney has 93 saves this season and averages 66.4% in net. The team is 53.2% at the faceoff and shoots 34%.
Penn State holds a top rank sitting currently at number 2 with a record of 6-1. The team is led by Senior Middlefield Matt Traynor with 16 goals, 7 assists, and 7 ground balls. Jack Fracyon starts in goal for the Nittany Lions and has collected a total of 56 saves averaging 52.8%. So far this season PSU has taken down teams like Cornell and Colgate while their only loss coming from Princeton. The team is averaging 59.4% at the faceoff and 33.4% shooting.
Princeton with a 4-2 record has proven their dominance this season as a top team in Division 1 lacrosse. Princeton currently sits as the favorite to win the Ivy league and also to win the whole NCAA tournament. Contributing 20 goals and 6 assists, Senior Attackman Coulter Mackesy leads Princeton’s offense. Princeton’s shooting percentage is 28.9 percent. With notable wins against UNC, Duke, and Penn State, Princeton has powered their way to the top of college lacrosse. With their only losses from Maryland and Cornell this team remains one of the best. Junior Goalie Ryan Croddick has totaled 89 saves this season and is 56.3% in net. Although this team remains one of the best in college lacrosse their weakness is clear as one of the worst in faceoff percentage sitting at 35.6%. Princeton remains a powerhouse in college lacrosse and is a team that others have to prepare well before getting on a field with them.
