The first year of the new college football playoff system has definitely been interesting. With teams like Smu and Clemson making the playoffs and getting blown out in the first round, it caused people to speak out about their opinions about how teams like that didn’t deserve to be in.
With the playoff being down to 4 teams now, the semi final round consists of Notre Dame, Texas, Penn State and Ohio State. The Semifinal match ups we have this weekend are Penn State vs Notre Dame and Texas vs Ohio state, two really good matchups which should both result in good games.
Notre Dame (13-1) have been rallying all year after a loss to Northern IL early in the season, the Fighting irish are led by qb Riley Leonord who transferred from Duke this season. Leonard has thrown for 2,383 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, Another huge key to this team is Jerimiyah Love who has rushed for 1,076 yards and 16 touchdowns. Penn State’s run attack is highlighted by two 1,000 yard carriers Kaytron Allen and Nicholes Singleton. Penn State also has one of the best TEs in the country who has 1,158 receiving yards this season.
Oregon (13-1) who was the number 1 seed for most of the college football season looks to lean on their electrifying offense against a strong Ohio State defense. Oregon is led by QB Dillon Gabriel who had 3,857 yards, 30 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Ohio State (13-2) is led by one of the strongest Wr rooms in college football highlighted by true freshman Jeremiah Smith.
