This past fall athletic season at Madison High School was nothing short of exceptional and extremely exciting. The girls’ soccer, field hockey, and volleyball teams stood out especially this year, showcasing their talents and determination and bringing home significant achievements.
With an overall record of 21-3, the girl’s soccer team had an impressive season. As Liberty Conference and Girls Soccer North II Group II Sectional Champions, the team has shown incredible commitment and has a promising future. Many post-season honors were awarded to the leaders of the girl’s soccer team including: First Team All-Conference to Kate Reigle, Maddie Aromando, and Anna Gominiak; Second Team All-Conference to Gabby Mariani, Camryn Visich, and Avery Visich; and All Conference Honorable Mention to Alana Flynn; Top 40 All County to Kate Reigle, Maddie Aromando, and Anna Gominiak; Third Team All County to Gabby Mariani; and All-County Honorable Mentions to Avery and Camryn Visich.
Another successful team this season was the field hockey team with a record of 22-2. As NJAC and Morris County Tournament Champions, this team displayed their dedication and passion, improving from their 15-6 overall record and MCT Finals loss to Chatham last year. This incredible team is uniquely led by several underclassmen in addition to the seniors, shown in the following postseason awards: First Team All County: Celia Stuart, Lindsay Catchpole, Anna Stuart, and Emma Wirth; Honorable Mention All County: Bella Blunda and Caitlin Nallin; First Team All-Conference: Celia Stuart, Lindsay Catchpole, Anna Stuart, and Emma Wirth; Second Team All-Conference: Bella Blunda and Caitlin Nallin; Honorable Mention All Conference: SK Preston; and finally, Anna Stuart with First Team All-State North Group 1 and First Team All-State Group 1 honors, Lindsay Catchpole with First Team All-State North Group 1 and Second Team All-State Group 1 honors, Celia Stuart with First Team All-State North Group 1 and Third Team All-State Group 1 honors, and Emma Wirth with Second Team All-State North Group 1 and Third Team All-State Group 1 honors.
One final team that demonstrated their noteworthy skills this season was girl’s volleyball. As Girls Volleyball Central Group I Sectional Champions, the team had a truly historic season. With leaders receiving All Conference honors, such as First Team to Sophia Christoffers and Devon Johnson, Second Team to Eva Errichetti and Charlotte Forrester, and finally an Honorable Mention to Eden O’Connor, we know that this team has a very bright future ahead.
Here at Madison, we have some extremely talented girl’s sports athletes. As many of them move onto winter sports teams, this upcoming season seems very promising and will be great to watch.
