Star junior captain, Sophia Christoffers, plans to lead her team to a great 2024 season
Last year, Sophia had an impressive 108 kills and 179 digs, and was one of the stat leaders for the Madison Girls Volleyball Team. Another stand-out statistic was her aces as she recorded 50 aces on the season last year. She plans on leading the team on and off the court, and hopefully having a better year this year than last.
I sat down with Sophia to discuss her thoughts on this upcoming volleyball season. I asked, after starting off 3-1, how do you feel you will keep this success going? She responded with, “To keep the success going, the team is going to keep working hard during practice in hopes that it shows in games.” Sophia, and the other captains hope that their leadership in this program will help the team’s success, and motivate their teammates to play at a high standard.
Additionally, I asked her if she was planning on playing in college and what her volleyball might look like in her future? She replied, “I do plan on playing in college; I have been looking at a few schools and I am excited to learn more about their programs.” The MHS Girls Volleyball team continues to add to their successful season in the coming weeks.
