MADISON, NJ – On Friday, September 13 the Madison Girls Field Hockey played an intense game against Ridge Field Hockey. The final score was 5-1, with a win for Madison.
Powerhouse Sophomore Celia Stuart (1) made the first goal for the team. Stuart would later go on to score another goal later in the game.
Sophomore Lindsay Catchpole (40) would score three goals for the team, scoring a hat trick and making the score 5. Goalie Caitlyn Piotrowski had 11 saves on goal throughout the game.
On the Ridge side, Senior Katie McCaffrey (8) scored one goal for the Ridge team with an assist from Senior Annabel Stewart (11). Ridge goalie and Junior, Maddie Garcia, had 15 saves on goal. The Ridge Field Hockey team now has a record of 3-2, and the Madison Field Hockey team, with their third win, has a record of 3-0 for the 2024-2025 season.
Madison goalie Caitlyn Piotrowski stated, “We were preparing to play against a tough team, so I was anticipating lots of shots on goal. However, my team’s defense did a great job at keeping the game on our offensive side and clearing the ball out.”
Piotrowski credited the Madison defense and stated later in the game, “We adjusted our strategy and definitely went more on the offense to win the game.”
The Madison Field Hockey team will take on Whippany Park at Whippany Park High School on Monday, September 16.
