For or Against Friends?
Friends is one of the best and most successful sitcoms of all time. The show is about lifelong friends who go through different journeys but always stay together. The main attraction to the show is how the creators to the show created a strong bond between the lead characters, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey who all live in New York happen to live next door to each other.
It will always be on the most popular shows in television history because of the outstanding acting as well as a memorable theme song. The show as a whole has from beginning to end has a strong hold on script writing as well as casting. Which counts for guest stars. The storylines are relatable which can make you feel any sort of emotion from a situation. The actors and actresses make the audience feel you know more about the characters at the end of the show.
However the shows creates different opinions of its popularity if it’s overrated or loved more. It maintained a consistency of an honest approach even after running for ten seasons. With Chandlers dry sarcasm one liners, Monica’s obsessed cleaning, Joeys love for food, Phoebes eccentric personality and guitar playing, and of course will Ross and Rachel end up together. Never once did I think I ever got bored watching or feared the showrunners would change their direction.
To see the characters get themselves into cringe worthy and yet predictable moments make watching them worthwhile. There is an immense amount of respect toward David Crane and Marta Kauffman for keeping the show running with fresh new ideas. Considering different opinions I think that Friends is always going to top other sitcoms for staying on the same path. The show is available on HBO Max where it’s available to stream. The retrospect of the series as a whole keeps a strong connection of how the writers never lost their touch.
