In 1975, director Sydney Pollack showed the world a CIA thriller, Three Days of the Condor. Based on the novel “Six Days of the Condor” by James Grady, Three Days follows a similar premise.

The story revolves around CIA analyzer Turner (Robert Redford) working in Manhattan. On what seems like a normal rainy day he comes back to office to find all his co-workers massacured, all murdered by gun shot. What follows is a back and forth game of wits and danger as Turner does not know who to trust.

I believe what the movie does well is keeping you on your feet. Everything is moving and active. It fits to create a very compelling and suspenseful story centered around the mystery of Turner’s dead co-workers.

Unfortunately, due to everything going on in the movie, it is a little hard to follow along at some points. While watching it is easy to forget what’s going on and if you look away for even a second you might miss a critical scene from the movie. However, this only confirms how complex the movie is.

The movie, for the most part, has standard acting, but in some scenes it can really stand out. In the last scene, Redfold takes the cake for best actor though. He can really pull off a confused, scared, and determined book reader.

The movie is currently on Amazon Video. I personally give it a 8.5/10 and if you like spy thrillers, a good mystery, and commentary on US policy you will probably give it a similar rating.
