After nearly two decades of committed service to the Madison High School football team and athletic department Coach Kubik is moving on.
Coach Kubik’s name has become synonymous in Madison with the success of our beloved Dodgers football. He’s paced the sidelines at countless games, and been there for the Dodgers every step of the way. He has led the team through triumphs, challenges, and countless moments that have defined what it means to wear the maroon and gold. Coach Kubik’s dedication to Madison’s football is undeniable and he has the results to show for it. He has made 10 playoff appearances, and has coached seven division championships and three state ones. He has established the Madison record of a 122-68 win to loss rate. He led the Dodgers to win 39 games consecutively. He is widely recognized and was named by the Jets as the High School Coach of the Week and Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Freedom Division Coach of the year.
Although Coach Kubik is generally known, not many know much about him beyond his coaching. Coach is a long time New Jerseyan and he was born and raised in Clifton, New Jersey. He graduated High school in 1989 and after he graduated from Montclair State University in 1995. He received a Bachelor in Science for physical and health education, and his studies did not stop there. Ten years later he also obtained a Masters in Educational Administration. He has taught and coached in numerous high schools in New Jersey; he also has 34 years of coaching and 31 years of teaching under his belt. Coach Kubik is now looking ahead to the future, he plans to move to South Carolina with his wife, Karin Kubik, and continue his career there.
With the news of Coach’s plans to move on there is without a doubt a feeling of of loss for the Dodgers. Coach has consistently served Madison High School both on the field and in the classroom, and helped the Dodgers to some of their most memorable wins and moments. He has been our most valuable asset on the Madison football team and it is going to be sad to see him go, but we wish him the best of luck. Go Dodgers!
