Thoughts: An Evening With Silk Sonic is the perfect name for this album. Bruno Mars finally returned to collaborate with Anderson .Paak to create one of the best projects in a year filled with great music. The duo incorporates smooth and funky instrumentals with silky vocals laid on top. The songs are consistently good from start to finish, as each of the songs blends beautifully with the next. The result is a catchy and upbeat mixture of soul and funk. There are only two minor downsides to this project. First, the lyrics can end up being cheesy at some times, but it doesn’t take away from the album too much. The second is the runtime, as there is only 9 songs and it barely breaks 30 minutes in length. But, this can be seen as a positive as well, as the album can be listened to quickly without interruptions. This project is a must-listen for 2021.
