David Steketee
David Steketee is the youngest of the 3 candidates in the Madison Board of Education election and is from St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering as well as from University of Missouri- Columbia with a degree in journalism. He currently works as a global enterprise architect for PwC. One of Mr. Steketee’s proud achievements was being awarded the Freethinker Award in 2018 by the Freedom From Religion Foundation for his involvement in a lawsuit challenging the Morris County freeholder’s practice of awarding grants to churches which was a violation of the separation of church and state.
Mr. Steketee’s main focal point is to solve is the achievement gap between wealthy and low-income students, as he wants to improve the performance of kids who are economically disadvantaged and promise them an equal opportunity for success.
MDO scheduled an interview with Mr. Steketee, which was unable to occur due to school closure.
