Friends Reunion: Hit or Miss?

After 10 seasons of the hit show Friends, NBC announced they were going to release a reunion, bringing back the original cast we all know and love. Unfortunately, this was not a reunion Friends fans were hoping for. When we first heard that Matthew Perry wasn’t going to be able to attend the reunion, we thought to ourselves “how are they going to shoot another episode of Friends without Chandler?” Well, this was not another episode – it was a tribute to James Burrows, the director of Friends and multiple other TV shows from back in the day such as Cheers, Will and Grace, and Taxi which also appeared in the reunion.

The tribute lasted 2 hours, but the cast of Friends didn’t appear until about 90 minutes into the show. Fans were waiting in anticipation for the big episode reveal, to find out that they would just be watching the six best friends sitting on a couch talking about their experience on the show. The star of the show, Jennifer Aniston talked about her relationship with the cast and how they all used to go out to lunch together after they were done filming each episode – she said it was the “best 10 years of our acting careers”.

We as fans were to glad to see the cast of Friends in the same room again and loved how close they all seemed just like they were on the show. It was a little disappointing knowing about the reunion for over a month and expecting so much more than it actually was. Hopefully one day the six friends will return to that dingy orange couch in “Central Perk” to film one more episode for all their beloved fans.
