Madison Baseball States: Round One

Mr. Dowling

Dodger Baseball Seniors

Over the weekend Madison Baseball had their Senior Night at Dodge Field. Unfortunately, rained out, their next game wasn’t until this past Monday, May 18th, which was their first round of states. They played against Newark Arts and won 10-0 in 5 innings. In the first inning there were already seven runs made by Madison, which was truly a team effort made by a combination of walks and hits. The second inning there were two more runs and then lastly, one more in the bottom of the third bringing Madison to a total of ten runs! Ryan Higgins and Brian Chinni being Madison’s pitchers, combined for a no hitter. To help the pitchers, any balls that were hit, defense made the plays so that they kept the no hitters. As of now, these boys are 14-9 and fifth seed in the state and the next state game is Thursday the 21st! We wish these boys so much luck and hope they continue as the games go on!
