Interesting Products at CES 2015 in Las Vegas
The CES (Consumer Electrics Show) took place from January 6th-9th in Las Vegas, unveiling an endless amount of new technology and advancements. Although all of the gadgets at CES 2015 could spark anyone’s interest, these are a few that students at MHS may find especially appealing.
- The Oculus Rift
For all of the gamers especially, the Oculus Rift Crescent Bay is one of various new technologies introducing virtual reality to the world. It allows people to be submerged into a fictional world that could be the future of gaming. While the new Oculus Rift Crescent Bay is not yet available for purchase, the Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 costs $350 and includes a variety of features to please any gamer or others alike.

- The PonoPlayer
An essential in study halls is good music and accompanying headphones, so to amp this up, ditch the smartphone and opt for the $399 PonoPlayer. The sound quality of your music will be bumped up dramatically in this triangular prism which also holds 128GB of storage and features a touch screen.

- Phone Accessories such as cases and chargers
Many different cases were displayed at CES with chargers in or with them to carry along. The Otterbox Resurgence case for the iPhone 6 and the Farbe Technik iPhone 6 charging cases are just two of many, and in the line of portable chargers there is the stylish Case Scenario portable chargers which run $60 but come in different designs like marble. Other unique cases and chargers include the Boostcase Stingray Power Case which costs a hefty $500 and is covered in stingray hide.

- The Polaroid Zip
Similar to others, this photo printer connects to your phone via Bluetooth and will readily print any of your insta-worthy pictures. The printer prints 2×3 inch photo and is about the size of a large smartphone itself. One hundred sheets of the paper the pictures are printed on is $25 and the Polaroid Zip will cost $130 when it is available in the spring.

- The XYZPrinting Nobel 1.0
This consumer 3D printer costs $1499.00, significantly less than other printers while still using the same methods to print. The printer uses resin and an ultraviolet laser to build objects layer-by-layer. Not only is it cheaper than other printers, it is also faster and the quality of the print is higher at 25 microns which is a significant jump from other 3D printers.
