The “Black Friday” experience is certainly one you won’t forget. Forget about having a relaxing Thanksgiving Thursday, because come midnight, all hell breaks loose at local malls and department stores. With unbeatable sales for your favorite gifts, Black Friday is known as the “kick-off” to holiday shopping. Millions attend Black Friday every year across the United States to get the best deals possible. By attending Black Friday 2013, I have learned the ins and outs of having a successful shopping day. Here are 6 tips to “win” at Black Friday.
- Be Prepared
Go to the mall a few days ahead of Black Friday to learn about the sales that will be happening. Try to find where your items are located so you can make the shopping experience as quick as possible.
- Wear Comfy Attire
You’re going to be running around, pushing through crowds, and sprinting from store to store, so make sure you have simple attire on to not slow you down. The classic leggings, Ugg boots and a sweatshirt works perfectly.
- Avoid From Carrying More Than Necessary
Instead of carrying a purse, try to use a cross body or wear a jacket with pockets. This will free up your hands for all the bags you’ll be carrying. Also, when at check out, see if you have room in other bags to place your new items in to prevent from carrying unnecessary loads.
- Set Your Alarm Extra Early
You’re going to be full from all that turkey you stuffed your face with, so make sure you give yourself some extra snuggle time in bed before your shopping begins. I suggest getting to your destination an hour before doors open to find a spot and to get to your stores while they’re still stocked.
- Try To Find a Ride to Your Store.
You, unfortunately, are not the only one who will be Black Friday shopping, so parking will be miserable. If you can manage to get dropped off at your store, you will have more time shopping and less of a worry to find a parking spot.
- Buddy System
The more of you working together, the more you can get in less time. You don’t want to be there longer than you have to be. Trust me. If you can divide the work, it’ll help get the best deals in a shorter amount of time!

Although I do not shop a lot, I agree with all of these tips because it does save time and is helpful if you want to buy something before it is out of stock.
