Tuesday, November 11th, Madison Girls Soccer won their States Tournament Semi-final game against Bernard’s High School.
The Bernard’s Girls Team won states last year and had a record this year of 11-10-1. Madison team has a record of 13-4-2 this year.
The game was well fought on both sides and was very intense overall. Kristina Qualbin had 6 amazing saves throughout the game and Madison had four shots on goal. By the end of the game the score was 0-0 forcing the teams into overtime. After double overtime both teams still had no goals. The penalty kick takers from Madison were Bailey Hurst, Jamie Joubert, Mackaella Goodwin, Ali Waxgiser, and Katie Flanagan. The crowd anxiously waited while each team took their shots. Madison missed their first two shots but had a strong come back and made the last three while Bernard’s only made two. The Madison supporters roared and the whole team was overjoyed.
Congratulations on the amazing win! Good luck to the girls when they play Hanover park in the States Final Tournament game on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2pm.
