No big surprise that Elsa is the number one costume for kids. Her catchy song “Let It Go” is stuck in the heads of children and adults alike. In boys fashion, superheros outperform anything else. Men, boys, and teens all want to dress up as Superman, Batman and Captain America. Some highly unlikely costumes also became popular this year. One favorite of men is a punny “Chick Magnet,” complete with a giant magnet and tiny chicks.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding women’s “sexy” costumes this year. Not too long ago a halloween costume company released “sexy” Frozen characters, as in Elsa, Anna and Olaf. Now twenty-somethings can be the same character as eight year olds. A Sexy Ebola costume has also hit stores in recent weeks following the uproar surrounding the spread of the disease. Some professionals even agree that the line has been crossed regarding “sexy” costumes. With Crayola crayons always making a comeback for college students, they have finally travelled down to the teen and tween age, being claimed as one of the top costumes for girls. The teenage classics are always in style; black cats, nerds, and Minnie mouse.
Overall, many costumes can be worn by either children or adults, or even boys and girls. Superheros are a huge hit this year between men and women alike. Superheros are great group costumes for everyone. Even if there are too many people, there are always villians. Just make sure there aren’t too many Catwomen.
