As soon as fall rolls around, every single year, more and more people get excited to watch Disney’s classic Halloween movies. Even high school kids like us. Every person I talk to knows about the series Halloweentown and gets excited every time it’s mentioned. In the series of Halloweentown movies, Kimberly J. Brown played the main character Marnie Piper in the first three and actress Sara Paxton took over for the fourth installment.
- Halloweentown (1998)- Marnie, who is 13 years old, first finds out about her powers as a witch and discovers Halloweentown thanks to her grandmother Aggie Cromwell (played by Debbie Reynolds).
- Halloweentown II: Kalaber’s Revenge (2001)- Marnie is now 15 years old. The family creates a portal to and from the “Mortal World” and Halloweentown so warlock and witches can’t take over both worlds.
- Halloweentown High (2004)- Marnie is a 17 year old high schooler and tries her hardest to reunite the “Mortal World” and Halloweentown.
- Return to Halloweentown (2006)- Marnie is 19 years old and attends Witch University. She finds out a secret about her family and is Queen of Halloweentown for ONE night…
But what happens in the final Halloweentown movie? You’ll have to stay tuned into Disney Channel to find out.
Where is the main character Marnie Piper today? Kimberly J. Brown, who played Marnie in the first three movies, is now 29 years old. She has been in a few television shows and movies but her most recent one was “Low Winter Sun” from 2013. Unfortunately, it was cancelled soon after it was aired. Some might say Sara Paxton, who played Marnie in the last movie, was a bit more successful. She is 26 now and appeared in many films and TV shows. The most popular ones have been “Sleepover,” “Aquamarine,” “The Last House On The Left,” and “Happily Ever After.”
Halloweentown is a great series that catches the attention of anyone. It’s full of drama, villains and suspense; it would be a shame to have never watched it.
