It’s that time of the year again for the Fall Pep Rally! For weeks the excitement has been growing and now it’s finally here. Student Council President Morgan Smith says, “This year’s Pep Rally will be the same set up as last year with tug of war, relays and donut eating. We are also trying to make a tradition of having ‘senior cheerleaders.’ We don’t have them for our football team but we can at least have them for our Pep Rally, which should be very entertaining.”
The Student Council believes that this year will be a very good turn out. It’s obviously mandatory to go to the Pep Rally at the end of the day, but the Student Council has been trying to get everyone really excited about it. They’ve been raising awareness with posters and posts on Twitter. Vice President Abby Chopoorian adds, “Just like last year, Doug Witte and his band will be performing and I think that will be a major crowd pleaser. They will be singing some Jonas Brothers songs, which I’m sure everyone will enjoy.”
For the relays, tug of war and donut eating, students are picked at random; that way, a variety of students at MHS will be able to participate. The hall decorating will also be the same as last year. The day before the Pep Rally, after school, the student officers for each class will be leading hallway decorating. Freshman will take on D Hall, Sophomores will be decorating G, Juniors E and F, and Seniors will be decorating the main hallway, C. However, this Pep Rally is just the beginning for the fun week we have ahead. Student council, class officers, President Morgan Smith and VP Abby Chopoorian have worked extremely hard to make this pep rally and the week ahead the best it could be.
Spirit Week starts Monday October 13th and goes until that Friday. Then finally that Friday night is the night football game! From this coming Friday to the next Friday will be filled with school spirit that all the students will hopefully be participating in. So get excited MHS: we have an exciting week ahead of us, starting with our Fall Pep Rally tomorrow!
