- The wife of British Hostage Alan Henning pleaded with ISIS on Saturday, September 20, to release her husband. ISIS has recently threatened to kill Henning shortly after they executed British aid worker David Haines. Alan Henning’s wife described him as a peaceful man who was only in Syria to help people in need.

- Pope Francis used his trip to Albania this weekend to criticize ISIS and other Islamist militant groups for their use of religion as a justification for violence, a hugely important statement that divorces the average religious practitioner from his or her radical and more vocal counterparts.
