Many kids dream of playing football in college, but for most this usually is a distended dream. Most play for a division three college because there love for the game is just so strong. For a hometown Madison boy to make it to the big stage in New Brunswick is truly something special. To be in same respect of Neil O’Donnell and Peter Jibila (played for bear Bryant at Alabama) is an honor only awarded to the few. The name Justin Goodwin has become a household name in the town of Madison. Many could not pick him out of crowd but will proudly tell any stranger that he is from their town. Justin is making all Madisonions proud by playing for Rutgers University. Coach Kubik (head coach for the dodger football team) is very proud of Justin. Coach said “I saw him at a scrimmage and on TV and I was extremely proud of him” This is a common trend when it comes to a humble man like Justin. Every body is proud of him and happy about his bright future.
Playing and being on the team are two totally different things, but Justin is defying the odds and getting playing time as a freshman. Justin is the third running back on the roster and looks to get significant playing time. On September 7th versus Norfolk State Justin had six carries for 44 yards giving him an average yardage per carry of 7.3. (Second highest on team) This is a good performance, which will most likely lead to more carries and playing time. All of Madison looks forward to what Justin can do.
