On Tuesday night, Madison Boys lacrosse was given the expected fourth seed in the Morris County Tournament, behind Delbarton with the number one seed, Mountain Lakes at the number two seed, and Chatham with the number three seed, respectively, at the Morris County seating meeting. The Dodgers will face the winner of (13) Morristown and (20) Jefferson in the second round. The dodgers played the Colonials Thursday for a 12-9 win.
“This year is different. We all know exactly what we need to do to succeed and we’re confident in each other to finish the job,” explained senior Captain Mark Langan. “I’m excited to see how far we go in the County and States.”
“You’ve heard us say this from day one. This is a good team. You have shown it through your work ethic and talent. You have the opportunity to go far in the county tournament and states. Take the opportunity,” Coach Sweeney told his players in the locker room finishing a scouting report.
If the Dodgers succeed in the county tournament, they will have most of their games right in Madison on the Ted Monica Stadium turf and down the street at Farleigh Dickinson University. “It’s a good feeling to be home and have our friends and parents here to support us. Madison has a rich lacrosse tradition. It’s great to have so many incredible teams coming in and out of our town to compete,” said Langan.
The Dodgers go on to face Westfield away on Saturday at noon. Come out and support the Maroon and Gold!
