The bodies of Chester Andraka and his wife Rosaria Andraka were found inside their home on January 25, 2013. Both had fatal gunshot wounds.
On January 25, 2013, Chester Andraka shot his wife, and then himself in their Parsippany home. The police found the bodies after a welfare check at their home. Chester hadn’t made it to work that morning.
Chester Andraka, 46, was a former police officer, which retired in November of 2009. He eventually became a part time adjunct instructor in 2012. His wife, Rosaria Andraka, 43, was an advisor and honors program administrator at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
The couple was described as the “perfect couple” and “loving couple.” Everyone who knew him described Chester as a “great friend.” He was known as a charismatic hard-worker. His wife was a friend to students at FDU, known as almost a “second mother.” She was said to have worked hard to make the school experience as stress free as it could be.
All who knew the Andrakas were shocked and deeply saddened by the news. It was unexpected that it was a murder-suicide, and saddening, as two shining stars died that day.
